The Fellowship Commission supports and encourages the building of fellowship among our parishioners.
In recent years, organized Fellowship activities have included the Sunday Fellowship (Coffee) Hour, Dinners for Eight and various parish-wide meals held in the Parish Hall and observing special events on the church calendar or other significant parish events. The Fellowship Commission is promoting the increase of opportunities for fellowship and the further development of a "warm and friendly parish family." New opportunities include affinity groups, foyer groups and trips to places of interest and events.

AFFINITY GROUPS are based on mutual interst of participants.
Patchers and Purlers, last year, made lap-sized quilts for children in one of Prescott's elementary schools. This year, they are quilting and knitting prayer quilts, shawls and scarves for those in need of visible prayer in our community. These prayer needs may be for healing or in thanksgiving. While some participants are experienced, most are beginners. The distribution of the articles made by this group is a part of the Parish's outreach to the community it serves.
The Sojourners is a group of parishioners who are into camping. The groups first outing, to McDowell Regional Park near Fountain Hills, featured this Spring's rare and spectacular display of desert flowers, as well as great fellowship with those known and those not so well known. The group, made up of singles, couples and families, includes everyone from tenters to those with large trailers and motor homes.
Trips to interesting places and special events have become a favorite for many parishions. Bus loads of 55 people enjoyed a Diamondback game and each other's company last fall and the stage show Lion King at ASU in Tempe this winter. As we look down the road (no pun intended), more sports events, plays, concerts, museums and dinner theater are on the horizon (oooops!)
The Church Cookbook, the first compiled since the St. Luke's Centennial Celebration cookbook in 1992, is scheduled for release in 2009. All age groups contributed favorite and cherished recipes. Menu items are varied and prove that members of our parish are excellent cooks. In addition, prize-winning recipes from the community were included.
We all have particular and special interests. Individuals with common interests organize a group or trip, or host a small get-together in their homes. The result - occassional short-term commitment, sharing, fun and fellowship without a lot of meetings, organization, bureaucracy and long-term commitment of time and responsibility on the part of any one person involved.
Other affinity groups are under duscussion and individuals are encourage to start a group, organize a trip or be host in their home.
OTHER FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Sunday Fellowship Hour - Fellowship Hours are opportunities for those attending the 8 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. services on Sunday to have refreshments, to greet visitors and newcomers, and to get to know one another better.
Men's Breakfast - On the first Saturday of each month, men gather for prayer and Eucharist at 7:30 a.m. in the Chapel. Breakfast, generally prepared by the men but sometimes with the expert help of a wife, follows. Following breakfast, the discussion of the current book being read begins with as much earnestness as men can summon up on a Saturday morning. There is much light-hearted, relaxed, and good-natured kidding. By 9 a.m., with full tummies and enlightened minds, it is time to return home for the ‘Honey-Do' list. Fellowship with like-minded men is enriching and enticing. All men of the parish are welcome. Please call Ed Hume a few days before the first Saturday of each month to let him know you are coming. The cook just wants to make sure there is enough to go ‘round.
Easter Fellowship - This special fellowship includes all of the parish family as we serve a continental breakfast between services and after the 10 a.m. Easter service and celebrate our Lord's resurrection. Last year, parishioners nibbled and "fellowshipped" until noon.
